Proper Way Planning Workshops – St George & Goondiwindi / Boggabilla

 In Events

We welcome you to come along to yearn and learn about an interactive and accessible resource created by Paul Calcott from First Peoples Disability Network using his artwork.  The concept is supporting a person’s story through how they access services and the community and identify what supports they may need to do this in their NDIS planning journey.

The workshops have 2 components:

  • The first is for service providers.  You will receive the complete package of resources enabling you to have discussions around the NDIS and the person’s first plan.
  • After lunch a session will be held for community members to walk through the interactive booklet.
  • Everyone is welcomed for lunch.  During this period we encourage service providers to set up a table to highlight the range of services for community members to collect and discuss.

About our facilitator:   Paul Calcott is a Wiradjuri man from central NSW; as an infant he contracted Polio this has led to his passion; helping other Aboriginal people who are living with a disability. Paul has been working within the disability sector for almost thirty years.

About First Peoples Disability Network Australia (FPDN):  It is a national organisation of and for Australia’s First Peoples with disability, their families and communities. It is governed by First Peoples with lived experience of disability.

Look forward to connecting at our workshop.
