A collaboration between 5 Moreton region schools with my NDCO colleague Theresa from TAFE South West coordinated a transport and logistic work inspiration program. This projected aimed to provide an insight into the world of work for around 36 students.
Students learnt more about their strengths and interests and about careers; gained an insight into what happens and expectations when they entre the world of work; and the many opportunities within the transport and logistics sector. They heard from successful professionals about their story of when they left school to reaching their current occupation. To complement all this new knowledge of the world of work was a tour and introduction to the training sector and the possibilities this can offer.
The event finale was a celebration day. Thank you to Deception Bay SHS students who met and greeted our guests, catered magnificently and provided space for us all to meet and reflect on a busy few days.
We thank all our guests for attending celebration day and making this a very special day for the senior students.
Yvette D’Ath MP handed out certificates to students and employers. Also in attendance Chris Whiting MP, Luke Howarth MP, and Cr James Houghton Division 5. Another thank you to Mark Ryan MP who joined us for lunch during the week and spoke with students.
Thank you to all that participated in this 4 day project.
